Remote Connections for SQL Server 2008

Remote Connections to the MS SQL Server are enabled for all SQL Server 2008 instances.

HELM4 Accounts:
Connection information can be found within the Database Manager screen. to get to the Database Manager; Control Panel to, Domains, then select Database Manager.

Once in the Database Manager, select the database you wish to make a remote connection to.  Notice the "Connection Information" field.  This will be populated with the remote connection string and local connection strings you should be using.

DotNetPanel Accounts:
The connection information from within DotNetPanel can be found in the "Space Summary". To navigate to the space summary login to your DotNetPanel account and click on your space. On the next screen click the "Space Summary" link located on the right of the screen.

Please be aware that in order to connect remotely use SQL Server Management Studio 2008. Enterprise Manager is not supported and will fail if you try to connect to an SQL Server 2008 database.
